A Court of Mist and Fury

a court of mist and furyFeyre survived Amarantha’s clutches to return to the Spring Court—but at a steep cost. Though she now has the powers of the High Fae, her heart remains human, and it can’t forget the terrible deeds she performed to save Tamlin’s people.

Nor has Feyre forgotten her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court. As Feyre navigates its dark web of politics, passion, and dazzling power, a greater evil looms—and she might be key to stopping it. But only if she can harness her harrowing gifts, heal her fractured soul, and decide how she wishes to shape her future—and the future of a world cleaved in two.

Bruh, this book was too good. So good in fact that I’ve read it about 4 times and every time it just gets better and better. Like seriously so good. The book opens with Feyre back in the spring court and man are we hit with feels immediately. It’s pretty rough going basically from the word go and it’s definitely worth it, like man, so worth it. Throughout the book we see Feyre fight her mental illness(es) and ultimately become who she is meant to be. This book shows that your own will and strength is enough to fight for yourself and that really you don’t need anyone to continuously do it for you. It is a love story, but the romance is so believable, so solid and built up and stunningly written that it just makes it so incredibly believable. She and Rhys (my smol baby bat – I will fight anyone who so much as looks at him wrong) slowly repair themselves by themselves and with each others help so that they can be as whole as they need to be to be together and it starts out as a enemies to friends to lovers thing but the process is slow and gradual and wholly believable. And I am always okay with an enemies to friends to lovers thing. Hit me up friend. Hit me right up. All the way up. I think I might have just taken that too far. Oh well, can’t take it back now – it’s too late.

Really an apt name for this book, heck this entire series would be A Court of Pain and Sadness but its all 100% worth it like are you kidding I would 10/10 do this again and again and again and again etc etc etc… you get the picture. Rhys’ Inner Circle are all my baes – especially Amren, I just feel her so strongly like fam, if we ever met we would be friends decently quickly (only because she scares me slightly, only slightly tho) and Mor and Azriel. I think I could legit kiss both of them. They’re both so incredibly perfect as is Cassian but he’s a different kind of perfect. He’s so snarky and my babe, and Nesta’s babe of course, but even so. Still such a defensive babe who knows exactly what to do and when. Such a sad background tho, which is actually the same for all of the night circle. They have all got such. tragic. pasts. And I am not okay with SJM for doing this to them, they are all too precious for this world and they deserve all of the happiness in it. Like seriously – if I could give them the moon I would. They deserve it. Especially Mor and my smol bat.

There is one person in this entire series that I currently could not hate more. Tamlin the fucking Tool. As far as I am concerned he can go die in a pit and Feyre can put him there, along with Rhys of course. Those two are just made for each other, and as far as I am concerned Tamlin can go rot in hell. Lucien is my sweet little fire son who needs to be protected and defended, but most importantly he needs to learn to defend himself. And he needs to heal. He needs to become himself before he will be able to give Elain all she needs and same goes for her my sweet flower child. The Archeron sisters are so flippin important, like mate I am pretty sure you don’t understand how important they are. They could be game changers for this entire series and I cannot wait to see that happen. But first Elain and Nesta need to get onto their fucking knees and beg Feyre for forgiveness. What they did was truly awful and they deserve to feel all of the regret, like seriously. What they did was awful and inconceivable yet it still happened and they need to apologise for it and then we can all move on with our lives and defeat The Dick otherwise known as the King of Hybern. He really needs to die.

And with that fun sentence I shall move onto my last remarks; This book is a work of art and needs to be read by everyone far and wide. Of course the first one will need to be read first. It is full of adventure, romance, comedy, drama, suspense and all of SJM’s absolutely stunning writing. And if that’s not convincing enough for you I will tell you that I own 4 copies so that I can easily read it whenever and wherever I am.

It gets 5/5 stars from me (I’m still trying to work out how to do star symbols, please excuse me). I will warn you that if you love this book then the hangover from it is strong. Like seriously. I am having such a hard time reading other books because of it and I’ve read/listened to it over 3 times now.

Just as an aside, I stopped half way through writing this to read some ACOMAF fanfiction so if that doesn’t tell you how good this book is and how strong the need for it is then I don’t know what it.

Chloe, out. *fist pounds chest twice and does a peace sign in the air at an angle – you know what I mean*

  1. Holy hell, that was an entertaining review. You really know how to do it don’t you? We’re the exact same with our thoughts on ACOMAF – so much so that we’re once again reading the book because we can still remember what it was like being left speechless at the end when we read it the first time. So good. So dark. So deliciously twisted. We’re going to go check out all of your other blog posts because you’ve just become a fav.
Before that though, do you feel how kick ass and powerful Nesta is going to be in the next book? And Feyre – newly reinvigorated, cunning Feyre….Love

    1. Thank you so much! This is actually my first blog post so thank you thank you thank you! OMG YAAS! Nesta is gonna own this bitch! and Feyre, oh how she is going to show Tamlin a good time, not! Just Feyre is gonna be so intense next book and I cannot wait.

      1. We’re thinking the next book might kill us and we’ve so many thoughts on what could happen! *wordlessly flails*
We noticed it was only your first post and while that was disappointing we can’t wait to read more! Whoop!
